How did you two meet?
We are Aggies through and through and have Texas A&M University to thank for our paths crossing. Our story began in the fall of 2016 when we met in one of our psychology classes, all thanks to a mutual friend. Throughout our time at A&M, we shared many classes together, sitting side by side as good friends…completely unaware that we both secretly had a crush on each other. In August 2018, sitting only a few feet apart, we graduated from the best university. Of course, life happened, we went our separate ways, but we always stayed in touch. It wasn't until November 2019 when we reconnected at an Aggie football game, that we both realized there was something special between us. On February 14th, 2020, Pierce took me out on our first date. I knew on that day that I was going on my last first date ever. I had a feeling that Pierce was the person God had chosen for me, and happy to say that gut was right! On December 17, 2022, Pierce proposed in the most thoughtful way imaginable. He gifted me a custom Monopoly board game that he fully personalized, and you guessed it - the ring was the custom game token to go with it! We have an extensive collection of Monopoly games (32 to be exact), so this was the most thoughtful and perfect proposal. Our love for Monopoly started early on in our relationship (thanks to the covid pandemic days), and we even play together on our phones when we’re hundreds of miles apart. Over the past 4+ years, we have experienced a lot together and have created countless cherished memories. From navigating the challenges of pandemic lockdowns and long-distance travels to magical Disneyland trips to cheering on our Aggies at Kyle Field to numerous FaceTime dates many miles away, and everything in between. We have the best time and make the most of every minute spent together in each other’s presence. We truly are soulmates and the best of friends and are so ecstatic to now be married!
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
It is hard to pick a best memory but definitely being surrounded by our closest family and friends who all traveled to Colorado to celebrate with us was so special and of course I loved that my dad married us which is something we will both cherish forever. There were a lot of best memories throughout the night and every second being together as husband and wife felt the absolute best!
What advice would you give to couples as they plan their wedding day?
Some advice I would give is no matter how optimistic you are, just know that something will most likely not work out as planned. No matter how much you plan and prep for it something almost always goes “wrong”, hopefully whatever happens is minor and nothing too crazy! Just remember to focus on what truly matters, which is marrying your person and to try and not focus on the little things or the things that went wrong. Also, advice for brides specifically is to PLEASE put yourself first! There were so many times where I kept putting everyone else’s needs above my own, even on my big day, and because of that I forgot things to do things that were special and important to me on my big day. Which I know was no one else’s fault but my own, but if I could do it over again, I would focus more on me and have maybe someone else help make sure others were taken care of.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to Honolulu, Hawaii It was my first time in Hawaii and Pierce has been fortunate to visit many times. Being fans of Disney we stayed at the Aulani Resort and this was his first time staying here as well. It was beautiful and the staff was extremely kind. The resort had its own private beach, beautiful pools, delicious restaurants, luaus on site and all the pina coladas in the world to enjoy. Unfortunately, I was sick our whole honeymoon so the only thing I was up to doing/ able to do was lay around the beach all day! Which was also much needed after all the wedding planning LOL. We were able to paddle board and snorkel one of our last days since that was a must for me to do, so I enjoyed that. Unfortunately, Pierce also got sick towards the end of our honeymoon, and we both had to cancel some of our excursions we were hoping to do. We just keep saying we need to go back and do it all over again.
