How did you two meet each other?
We met each other through mutual college friends and started spending more time together through rock climbing and trivia nights at our local bar. We are still close with a lot of those friends and many made the trip to Colorado for the wedding even though they are scattered all over the place with many on the east coast. We also still climb together and will host trivia nights at our house for our friends using the original format from the bar we used to go to.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Our entire wedding day was a DREAM! Having all of our favorite people there supporting us and celebrating with us was so meaningful, every time we looked around we couldn't help but smile. We loved not doing a first look to make that moment coming down the aisle more special, and we opted to do a first touch and private vows before the ceremony which was a really nice moment to have to ourselves.
Do you have any advice for couples as they plan their wedding day?
Our best advice we could give is to be as organized as you can leading up to the wedding and then have everything delegated for the day of so that you can really take in the day and relax. Meet with all of your vendors ahead of time to make sure they are people you want to spend your day with and trust to make your vision come to life. Being able to sit back and have a drink with our bridal party on the morning of was so nice, and part of our ability to do that was that we had extremely reliable vendors.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? What activities did you do while there?
We did a long weekend away down in Black Canyon of the Gunnison after the wedding. We rented a tiny cabin and spent a few days relaxing in the middle of nowhere and hiking with our pup. We are planning to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon over our 1 year anniversary. One of our bucket list goals is to visit all of the US National Parks, which was a theme we incorporated into our wedding day too. So for our Hawaii trip, we are planning to go to Haleakala and Volcanoes National Parks, spend some time on the beaches to relax, and then stop over in Kauai for some more exploring.
