How did you two meet?
We met briefly through a mutual friend at Breckenridge Ski Resort at the base of Peak 9. A few weeks later, we met up at Mayflower Gulch to ski tour together, and the rest is history!
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
We'll have to share two since we had two weddings :) One: Skiing down the "aisle" on the arm of my Dad at Mayflower Gulch with huge smiles across our faces. Seeing Rocco at the other end with a smile just as big. Then standing there together, holding hands, eyes locked, beaming with excitement and joy. Our dream to get married at Mayflower Gulch was literally coming true! Two: Another memory we will always hold is from the next day at our "real" wedding, just looking around and seeing our family and friends laughing, hugging, meeting each other, dancing, smiling, and having a great time. We were surrounded by love, joy, and genuine happiness. There is nothing more we could of asked for on our wedding day.
Do you have any advice for future couples as they plan their wedding day?
The same advice a good friend gave to me - make it your own! This event is about you as a couple, and celebrating your love with the most important people in your life. The personal touches make it even more special and give you reasons to smile, laugh, and take in the love surrounding you.
Where are you going on your honeymoon?
We planned a fairly last minute getaway to the Guanacaste Province of Costa Rica 2 weeks after our wedding. It was incredible and we fell in love with the country - the people, the beauty, the wildlife, the food, everything. We spent a few days beach-hopping along the coast and a few days at a hotsprings resort near Rincon de la Vieja. 9 days of hiking, monkey-watching, drinking mango daiquiris, and eating fresh fruit and Casado. It was the perfect place to unwind after a busy few months and to just enjoy each other in our newly-wed bliss.
