How did you meet each other?
This is a good story...We met through a mutual friend, who happened to be my boyfriend at the time, who was also named Chris. My current Chris was living in Alaska and moved back in CO on New Years Eve of 2013. He seemed like a cool guy but I was dating his friend and definitely not interested at the time. Apparently he knew from the second that he met me that I was the one. I didn't find any of this out until his dads speech at our engagement party and was floored! The other Chris and I broke up and fast forward to almost a year later, I run into both Chris's at The Irish Rover right before Valentine's Day. Needless to say, the rest was history. It definitely secured my belief in fate and as you probably guessed it...the Chris's are no longer friends.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
I would have to say that my favorite memory of the day was my dads speech. He spoke from the heart and truly set the tone for our marriage.
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
Try and soak in every moment of it! It sounds cliche but getting married is truly a whirlwind and the wedding day will fly by. Take time to say hello to your guests but allow yourself to break it down on the dance floor and enjoy the delicious food that you are providing for everyone. Also, try not to freak out if things aren't going as planned. We thought that we were sooo organized, until we got to the venue and then it was pure chaos. Everything ended up working out and no one noticed any flaws that may have occured.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Where did you stay and what were a couple activities you enjoyed. Would you recommend to other couples?
We decided to stay in Colorado for our honeymoon and went to Estes Park. It was truly the best thing that we could have done for ourselves. We didn't have to rush to catch a flight, we just had to pack up our car and off we went. It was the least stressful vacation that I've taken and after months and months of planning it was just what we needed. We stayed at the Chateau Della Terra which I highly recommend to couples. It was a gorgeous, intimate chateau with amazing breakfast and absolutely stunning rooms that back right up against Rocky Mountain National Park. We spent our mornings watching the wild turkeys and deer from our balcony hot tub and then headed out to fly fish in the afternoons followed by amazing food and wine tasting at the local winery.
