How did you meet one another?
We met at a past job in Des Moines, IA at a vinyl graphics company. Justin was moving to the sales department and Erin got hired to fill his position in production so we literally met on Erin's day one. Justin trained Erin for the position and we became quick friends. Eventually we started having lunches together which led to hanging out after work. Which turned into dating and as they say the rest is history. We had been officially dating for only 6 weeks when Justin was given a job offer he couldn't say no to that moved him to Denver. We long distance dated for 6 more months before Erin also moved west. Approx 2.5 years later Justin planned a surprise proposal at Red Rocks with Erin's family and friends during Easter weekend of 2016.
What was the best memory from your wedding day?
Everyone says your wedding day goes by so fast and that couldn't be more true! We spent 14 months planning the perfect day and what a perfect day we had! It couldn't have been more perfect and magical. So filled with love. Not just between us as new husband and wife but from all of our amazing friends and family who traveled far to celebrate with us. We looked at each other in awe while returning from the sunset photo and stated that we felt like we were having a fictitious day! It felt like we were in a fairytale!! The day flew by but it was a blast and we wouldn't have done it any other way. While we were planning the wedding we kept telling each other we were planning the biggest party we would ever throw!
What's the best advice you can give to other couples planning their wedding?
Don't procrastinate! There's a lot to do and keep track of! Keep a notebook of lists to keep you organized - notes about payment to vendors, timing for dates like food tastings and planning meetings, etc.
Remember that this whole thing is about the both of you. Continue to celebrate yourselves as a couple. Plan date nights to break up the stresses of planning even if it's just a night out for a few beers.
Did you go on a honeymoon? If so, where?
We have not yet gone on our honeymoon. We are booked for 10 days in Orlando and Tampa Bay, Florida at the end of August into Labor Day weekend. We wanted to give ourselves a little break from the wedding before traveling and taking more time off of work. Also, we both have August birthdays so why not add more celebration to the trip!? We did not use a travel agent. We bought our plane tickets at a great price in February and booked ourselves at a resort in each destination online. We are going to visit NASA - Kennedy Space Center, Universal Studios, Busch Gardens and of course the beaches and plenty of shopping and relaxing!
(Plus waiting to take the honeymoon has given Erin time to change her name - we're almost done already!)
