How did you meet one another?
Ryan and Kevin (Beth's younger brother) went to college together. So Ryan always knew Kevin had a sister and Beth knew Kevin had this friend Ryan. However, our paths never crossed until Kevin's wedding and it all started with a square dance. Beth needed a partner so her mom, Ann, was standing next to her Aunt, Mary Ann, and said, "See that boy over there, go tell him he needs to dance with Beth." Mary Ann walked right up to Ryan, brought him across the dance floor, and said, "Beth here is your partner."
What was your best memory from the wedding day?
Beth - My best memory from the day was when we were saying our vows. Even though we were in front of all our family and friends, it truly felt like it was only Ryan and I in that moment. I also loved dancing with everyone at the reception. It was very special to have everyone that we love all together.
Ryan- My best memory was getting to see Beth and her father walk down the aisle. I was nervous walking out in front of our family and friends before mass, but as soon as I saw Beth it seemed like nothing else mattered and my nerves went away. I also loved catching up with friends and family. It was great to see everyone come and support the both of us.
What is some advice you would give to other couples planning their wedding?
Keep it simple. If you have the time don't be afraid to DIY, you'll save money.
Did you go on a honeymoon? Would you recommend it to future couples?
We went to St. Lucia for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Sandals Grande St. Lucian for a week. The only activity we did was walk over to Pigeon Island National Landmark which was right next to our resort. From there we hiked up to Fort Rodney which had spectacular views. Otherwise the toughest decision for the day was to sit on the beach or at the pool. After all the planning and excitement from the weekend it was nice to just relax and be carefree for a few days.
