How did you meet each other?
I was hired as a daycare director and Brandon was an employee. Brandon went off to college and we kept in touch via Facebook. Our love of live music allowed us to run into each other at a Snoop Dogg/311 concert a few years later. Then we again ran into each other at ladies night at the Stampede. Brandon asked me out a few weeks later. Our first date was to a Avs game due to Brandon's love of hockey. That was 5 1/2 years ago and we have not parted since.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
The best memory of our wedding day was our first dance "Love Your Love the Most" by Eric Church. We also loved the getting ready moments with our close friends.
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
Try to take a step back during your special day and take in what is around you. Things will go wrong (like the DJ's speaker blowing out as we were about to walk down the isle), but do not let it bother you. Brush it off.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to the North Island of New Zealand and Fiji.
We drove from the northern tip of New Zealand to the Southern tip. We spent nine days exploring glow worm caves, the Bay of Islands (yummy seafood), having a romantic dinner at the Orbit restaurant (rotates 360 degrees in an hour), Cathedral Cove (our favorite part), the Hamurana Springs and redwood forest, Rotorua (smells like rotten eggs, nicked named the Sulfur City), snowboarded on a volcano at Whakapapa, enjoyed the most delicious coffee, and of course tried to go to every brewery possible in route to where we went (Garage Project in Wellington being our favorite).
We then spent three days in Fiji where we enjoyed relaxing on the beach drinking jugs of Fiji Gold and Pina Coladas. We enjoyed talking with the locals, eating lots of food, and listening to live music. We also played a round of golf with an ocean view.
