How did you meet each other?
Andrew and I both grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and met in middle school. We actually “dated” for a very brief three days in 7th grade. We had mutual friends all throughout high school so we did hang out occasionally, but we went our separate ways after we graduated. We eventually rekindled our friendship when we were home for the holidays during our senior years of college and realized that maybe we had the right idea back in 7th grade.
What was the best part of your wedding day?
We both agree that the most magical moment of our entire day was seeing each other for the first time as I walked down the isle. We considered doing a first look, but ultimately went with our gut and decided to save that moment for the ceremony. It was an extremely emotional and special moment that we were so happy to share with our closest friends and family.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their wedding?
My advice for people who are planning their wedding is to write your own vows! We weren’t sure that that was something we wanted to do, but we’re both so glad we decided to! It doesn’t have to long or super sappy, but it made our ceremony feel so much more personal.
Did you go on a honeymoon?
We went to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. We wanted a little bit of adventure mixed in with a lot of relaxation and we found all of that in CR! We traveled around a little bit and stayed in Santa Teresa, Monteverde, and Tamarindo. All 3 places had very different things to offer, but our favorite was Santa Teresa! While in CR, we spent lots of days lounging at the beach, but also did some hiking, rented ATVs, went ziplining and surfing, and saw lots of monkeys and sloths. If you’re an adventurous couple, we would definitely recommend exploring this beautiful country!
