Why Order an Album Now? A quality wedding album typically is one of the last things on the list when booking a wedding photography package for you big day. In this digital age, most couples think that simply getting the full rights to the images will suffice and they can either purchase one at a later date, build their own album later or share the photos online only. While this may be true there are several reasons to order your album along with your wedding photography package.
1) You will get busy - Believe it or not, things come along in life that will delay the ordering of an album and you don’t want to look back and wish you had printed it way back when.
2) Technology Changes - CD’s, DVD’s and thumbnails are easy to lose and technology changes quickly. You will want to make sure you have something tangible that will live on forever. An Image Box of Prints could suffice, but wont tell the entire story.
3) Everything is fresh - The album designer (the day of wedding photographer here at Drake Busch Photography) will have first hand recollection of your wedding day and the important details and flow of the day.
4) Save money by ordering now - When an album is booked within an “album package” as opposed to A La Carte, you are saving a couple hundred dollars on the design costs.
How to Order a Wedding Album?
The following pages give a breakdown of the various albums styles we offer at Drake Busch Photography. The costs of our albums vary depending on the page style and cover option you choose. Our A La Carte design fee is an additional $399 on top of the printing cost. To start the process contact us and let us know what style you are looking for and the number of pages you were wanting. We will begin designing based on your preferences and share a proof with you. From there it will be a collaborative effort to modify and swap images to make sure it is the perfect album for you.
Wedding Album FAQ:
What is the Design Fee and what is the total cost of having my album printed?
The design fee is $400 and includes the initial design plus up to 3 rounds of changes to get the album you want sent to print. The total cost of printing an album with Drake Busch Photography then is the design fee of $400 plus the base price from the album of your choice below.
Do you design more collage pages or single image pages?
Typically we will design most pages with some sort of collage. If given enough pages to work with, we like to add in a few single image pages of the bride and groom or any other impactful images the help tell the story of your wedding day.
What is the difference between Pages/Spreads and Sides?
Different album companies word things in different ways when displaying their base pricing. Sides are the 2 individual “pages” in a spread. Therefore a “Page” in the album companies terms, is the combination of 2 sides. Kind of confusing we know.
How many pages would you recommend in an album design?
I would always recommend a minimum of 15 spreads or 30 sides to completely tell the whole story of your wedding day. The more the merrier and like mentioned above, the more pages there are the larger the photos can be displayed.
What is the cost if I wanted to add an additional album for parents or grandparents?
Here at Drake Busch Photography, we want as many albums out in circulation as possible. Because of this we offer companion albums to couples at cost of printing (base price) with no extra upcharge when ordered at the same time as the original. If a duplicate is ordered afterwords, then simply the base price applies.
How do you know what images to choose?
If you were a wedding client of ours, then you have an online proofing gallery where you can create a folder of your favorite images to use for album design. Simply log into your Pictage account and create a favorites folder and we will take it from there.
How many image should we choose?
The total amount can vary on the number of pages you give us to work with. On average we like to put no more than 5 or 6 images per side unless they are small detail photos.
