How did you two meet? We originally met and knew each other from our time attending Missouri State University in Springfield, MO. We have a lot of mutual friends that we've maintained since college, so our orbits were never too far away from each other. We reconnected a little over 10 years later and almost immediately knew we'd found our person, partner, and best friend.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding day? Andy: The ceremony. Knowing that there were so many people present that had made it all the way to our destination to see this momentous event in our lives, but at the same time being able to hone in on Brittany and be super present with and focused on her was amazing.
Brittany: Early that morning, Andy and I were intentional about taking some quiet, peaceful time to ourselves sitting out on our balcony. We were able to soak up the crisp morning air, enjoy the mountain views, listen to the river rushing by, and just have some quiet moments of gratitude to ourselves before the whirlwind of the day. I'm so glad we prioritized that time, and it was a wonderful way to begin one of the most important days of our lives!
What do you want future brides to know before their wedding day? Focus on small steps/tasks that you can accomplish daily/weekly that gradually build up to the big day. We stayed very organized and set deadlines for items on our wedding planning to-do list and revisited them often. We rarely let much time go by without revisiting the list and finding things we could cross-off. It helps maintain a sense of accomplishment, even in the small things, and helps build excitement toward the wedding day. On the flip side of that - give yourself days where it's okay not to accomplish anything. If you have a day of focus where you get several things done, giving yourself a day or two afterwards with no "to-dos" helps preserve your energy and keep you from getting too bogged down.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Since we'd already planned a destination wedding in Colorado, we extended the trip and took a couple of extra nights to ourselves in Breckenridge as our "honeymoon." We stayed at the Marriott Mountain Valley Lodge. We rode e-bikes to Frisco and back, visited Isak Heartstone (https://breckcreate.org/public-art/isak-heartstone-breckenridge-troll), had a fantastic dinner at our favorite Colorado restaurant, Radicato (https://www.radicatobreck.com/), and hiked the 7.5mi McCullough Gulch Trail up to 12,500 ft! Attaching a couple of pictures of us at the top, including a few of a "nature heart" that we found at the Upper Lake Breckenridge is one of our favorite places in Colorado and we would absolutely recommend it!
