How did you two meet?
At Red River Ski & Summer Area. Saylor was working on the ropes course (at the Ski Area) and Jacob was taking pictures through Southern Exposure photography; of guests on the ropes course. One day, Jacob was standing in front of Saylor's cubby. Saylor was sitting across the room and decided it was time to grab her stuff over where Jacob was. Jokingly (or so, she was trying to joke), she asked Jacob; "do you need something, or are you just going to hover around my stuff?!" Jacob was taken back as he did not perceive it as a joke; he thought she was getting mad at him. After that confrontation, they didn't really talk or hangout until winter came around. Jacob was on trail crew, which is a sub-department of Ski Patrol. Saylor was the Assistant Ski Patrol Director, so she became his boss. Not long after the winter started, they realized that they had WAY more in common than they ever thought possible. They started dating on December 16th, 2021 and the rest is history!
What was your favorite memory of wedding day?
We loved everything about our day!! But, it would have to be: Getting towed up to Summit, skiing around, taking a ton of pictures, saying our vows, and skiing down with some of our awesome friends!
Do you have any advice to couples as they plan their wedding?
Ask for HELP! Don't give up! Enjoy the process and have FUN together! We did a lot of DIY projects together for the reception decor and I would highly recommend it to any couple that wants to get crafty. It was so rewarding during the process and especially when it all came together. We also planned most everything on our own with help, direction, and guidance from Aunt Liz Tate. We were truly able to make it OUR wedding!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Ojo Caliente - Posi Suite (definitely our favorite and we highly recommend it to everyone!)
We enjoyed soaking in the communal pools as well as our private patio pool. Skiing at Santa Fe, NM. Skiing at Monarch, CO - recommend staying at the Loyal Duke Lodge. Rock climbing, working out at Lifetime fitness, and soaking in various hot springs/hot tubs along the way.
We picked up our 8 week old chocolate labrador puppy, Sweeper. We've been introducing her to mountain trails around our house.
