How did you meet each other?
We met through a best friend Catherine who patiently tried for 9 years for us to meet and then timing happened to be just right and we had our first date. Love that we got married on our 6th anniversary of our first date.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
Gary’s, upon my entrance, when the barn doors, opened, Stacy’s, Gary’s smile when I walked to him and his vows. All the emotion Gary had said it all. Very best for me is being Stacy Schaefer now. The love and fun that we felt from our wedding guests, we’ve been told that it couldn’t of been a more compatible group. The whole day was truly more than I could of asked for. The non stop smiling, laughing and dancing the night away.
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
Don’t sweat the small stuff. We are so happy with our choice to start with a champagne greet. Also I didn’t do to many things, the venue and our florist made it with some touches from us. Less is better. I loved our photo book that had our history in it as a guest book. The instant cameras were a huge hit as well. Desert “Bar” was also something we’ve heard about.
Drake & Co and Monique handled the overwhelming love and people wanting to see us so well, you all got us away where we needed to be for photos etc. I definitely wasn’t prepared for that.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Well….we’ve delayed this part and will go somewhere warm and wonderful when our remodel is further along. Maybe even on our first anniversary could be special. I do love that we have that to look forward to and we didn’t miss anytime with our family and friends after the wedding. I don’t know how couples do it right after. We were tired and still had fun to have with the out of town people.
