How did you meet each other?
We met on Tinder! We always laugh when we tell people that because we are the least "Tinder" people ever. But alas, that is what initially brought us together. We met for drinks, which turned into dinner, at a tiki bar, and we've been together ever since (that was over 5 years ago!).
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
Fred: Seeing Katy walk down the aisle. Katy: Exchanging our personal vows.
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
We were supposed to have our big wedding in September 2020 but because of the pandemic, we had to reschedule multiple times. We went ahead and got married in a very small, immediate family only ceremony in 2020, which we were very grateful to be able to do but it definitely was not what we had envisioned. The biggest piece of advice that we would give to couples planning a wedding is not to sweat the small details. If it's not something that you're going to remember in 10 years, don't spend too much time worrying about it. I don't think we would have come to that realization if we hadn't had to reschedule multiple times. By the time we were finally able to have the big wedding, we were just so excited and thankful to have all of the people that we love in one room that we were able to really let go of worrying about the smaller, more insignificant details and truly be in the moment and have fun with everyone.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Where did you stay and what were a couple activities you enjoyed. Would you recommend to other couples?
Unfortunately we haven't been on a honeymoon yet. We're really hoping to plan something for next year and are thinking about Central America, the Caribbean, or Hawaii.
