How did you two meet?
We met on the dating app, Hinge! We were both attending University of Texas at Dallas for graduate school at the time, attended the same church in Dallas, and had a couple mutual friends in common.
What was your favorite memory from your wedding day?
One of our favorite memories is doing the “first touch” and meeting up with each other briefly before the wedding, however, not letting him see me. I am so grateful we did the first touch and did not see each other before I walked down the aisle. It was so sweet to get to exchange letters earlier in the day and have a few minutes together before our wedding. It definitely built up the anticipation to see each other during the ceremony, but was very calming and sweet to get to meet up earlier. It was also a great opportunity to take pictures outside!
We had the most incredible time with our friends and family, who were there in person and celebrating from a distance (via Zoom!) Even though Covid impacted our day, we have continually felt so grateful for the support and love we received near and far. Ever since our wedding, we have talked so many times about how blessed we feel to have been surrounded by the most amazing family and friends. The most special day for sure!!
What is some advice you would give to other couples as they plan their wedding?
I think our biggest advice for couples planning a wedding would be to not let yourselves become too overwhelmed with the details and enjoy the process—after all you only get to do it once! With wedding planning during the times of Covid, we had to make some tough decisions through the process and truly didn’t know what to expect looking months forward to our wedding day during the pandemic. It can be overwhelming with all the unknowns, but it is so important to let yourselves enjoy the season, take a deep breath when needed, and be flexible! It’s so important to remember the reason you are getting married, and that your love and marriage is so much greater than any of the little details that you encounter. If a detail doesn’t go as planned on your wedding day, no one will know at the end of day. Enjoy your time together during the sweet season of wedding planning and know that when it comes down to it, everything will be so amazing on your wedding day as you marry the love of your life!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Well....we had planned to go to Hawaii on our honeymoon right before the holidays, but we ended up getting Covid so weren’t able to go. We are planning to take a honeymoon in the future and are so excited!
After our wedding, we did stay in Vail for a couple days at the Sonnenalp and had the best time together relaxing after our wedding! We went to the spa and got massages, ordered room service, went to a nice dinner, and just enjoyed our time being a married couple! It is such a memorable couple of days and we felt overjoyed to be married and together.
