How did you two meet?
We met shortly after Shane moved from Vermont to Denver and went on our first date at the driving range at Kennedy Golf Course in Denver.
What was the best memory from your elopement ceremony?
Sharing this moment with a small group of family members in the beautiful Colorado scenery was very special for us. The location of the ceremony was breathtaking and we could not have asked for a better backdrop for the marriage. The meadow and Aspen trees where we held the ceremony was a quintessential Colorado landscape.
What advice would you give to other couples as they plan their wedding day?
Planning a wedding for over a year is stressful enough. This year we, and every couple getting married this spring/summer, were met with quite the curveball in the Covid pandemic. The best advice we could give other couples who have unforeseen and uncontrollable circumstances like this is to communicate with each other and then never look back when a decision has been made. It was actually a relief for both of us when we finally made the decision to reschedule the wedding to a later date and elope on the original planned wedding day in June. Making this decision was incredibly tough, but once it was set we felt we regained some control over the entire situation and it then allowed us to move forward with plans. The decision to still get married also allowed us to hold an incredibly memorable and special moment for both us and some of our closest family members. Overall, we cherish this moment behind us and then look forward to the future ceremony and celebration with all of our friends and family in the coming months.
