How did you meet one another?
We met seven years ago at the end of Summer 2010. Justin had been recruited and was preparing to move to play Juniors Hockey in Boston for the next year and I was packing up my life to begin my freshman year at University of Colorado. We had crossed paths once before and met through a mutual friend but never became friends ourselves. Our story began at a gas station. And yes, it was a 7/11. Justin and I were filling up at the same time when Justin approached me remembering the familiar face. We exchanged numbers and the rest is history!
What is the best memory from your day?
The best memory of our wedding day was the first look. We both were so excited and anxious to see each other. I cried…ALOT and Justin was speechless. It was such a perfect, magical intimate moment. I am so glad we did that, and the pictures turned out so great.
What is some advice you would give to other couples planning their wedding day?
As you plan your wedding day, the best decision we made was to get a “day of” wedding coordinator. Wow did she make a huge difference. It allowed my mom Lisa (who planned a lot of my wedding), Justin and I to relax day of. Angie was along for the ride throughout most of the planning so she knew exactly what needed to be done. She gave us great contacts and even supplied some décor we didn’t have to buy!
Did you go on a honeymoon?
After the wedding on Sunday, we jumped on a plane immediately and jetted to Maui, Hawaii for our honeymoon. We both have never been. We were so glad to have time to ourselves and could SLOW down (and stop answering a million questions 😊). The second day, with sand in our toes looking out into the water on the beach, we both looked at each other and said “what the heck just happened!? We are married!” The day went by so fast. The week went by so fast. You need take in every moment because it will truly be the best day of our life and it will fly by.
Our favorite activity in Hawaii was parasailing. Believe or not, it was peaceful, quiet and slow at the top and we enjoyed the ride! Scary but so fun. The view was better than a helicopter ride and the price cheaper!
