How did you meet each other?
We met through a friend in college, Scott Umbreit. Scott and Matt were friends from racing cars, and Scott asked Brandy to go to Matt's house to pick up a car part for him to bring back to school. When Brandy showed up at Matt's house, to pick up a car part (which she knew nothing about) she was in for a surprise when it was a transmission and took up her entire trunk. Matt and Brandy met a few other times before things clicked, but when they did they knew it was forever.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
Early in the day, they said there was a 67% chance of severe thunderstorms during the 6pm ceremony. Other than a few sprinkles while we were getting ready, there was no rain. And to top it off, when Brandy walked down the aisle, the sun came out from behind the clouds, and a hummingbird flew across the aisle. Hummingbirds are a favorite to her grandmother who had already passed on, some might say that was a sign from heaven that she was watching over our special day with a front row seat.
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
Take a minute to slow down and soak it all in! It goes by way too fast!
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to a family cabin in the woods, took a few days to rest and enjoy being together and reminiscing on our wedding. We also stopped at Mt Princeton Hot Springs and stayed one night. It was the perfect way to relax and be pampered before going back to reality.
