How did you meet each other?
We met in undergrad at The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'Em!) through mutual friends, but the connection was unplanned. Paul was going into his sophomore year and Conner was going into his junior year of school. A few months after meeting, Conner spent some time in Europe and when he returned they officially began dating.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
Where to start?! Colorado in late Fall is always a gamble, but we aimed to catch the fall foliage where the trees change to an red/orange/yellow color, and thankfully it was timed perfectly: not only did we catch the peak of the colors changing, but a freak rain storm that forced our wedding into a tent turned into the first snow of the season! It was such a special treat for our friends and family from Texas and other places that don't get snow!
What would be some advice you would give to future couples as they plan their wedding day?
1.) Don't get lost in the production of the day, but rather focus on spending time with friends, family, and your new spouse.
2.) Work towards your dream wedding, but don't limit your options. Things change monthly/weekly/daily, rain storms happen, some guests will unexpectedly show up (and others not attend at all). However, things will work out and your day will be special and memorable regardless.
Where did you go on your honeymoon? Where did you stay and what were a couple activities you enjoyed. Would you recommend to other couples? If you used a travel agent and liked them please note that.
Paul and Conner decided not to honeymoon immediately after the wedding. They arrived in Vail a few days early and stayed behind a few days after the wedding, so the whole week felt like a honeymoon and was full of bliss. We encouraged our friends and family to arrive early and stay late, so we got to share special memories with them in a town that is so special to us. We even did an ATV excursion with nearly 40 of our guests the day before the wedding.
