How did you two meet?
Mark and I originally met in 2010 at the Metro Apartments in downtown Denver. Every weekend was a pool party during the summer and I was there with friends for my birthday celebration. Mark and his buddies were there as well and they came over and introduced themselves to us and asked up to play the oh-so-fun drinking game, flip cup. :) We started talking and he joined my friends and I later on for some more birthday celebrating at the bars. While we exchanged numbers and would see each other from time to time, we didn't start officially dating until 2013. I had recently been injured in a ski accident and one of our first dates was Mark coming over right after my knee surgery to hang out and watch Armageddon with me.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
The best memory of our wedding day was without a doubt our first look, it allowed us to have a private moment and realize that even with everything that was going on, this day was ultimately about us and our love for one another.
What is some advice you would give to other couples planning their wedding?
My advice would be to start early and break the planning process into chunks. It can get very overwhelming so starting early and staying organized can go a long way. Also, if couple's can afford it, I would recommend hiring a wedding planner. That would have made things so much easier! For the day of the wedding, I would tell couple's that it goes incredibly fast and before you know it the night is over. Take time during the day to stop and take it all in and of course, enjoy yourselves!
Did you go on a honeymoon?
Mark and I will not be going on our honeymoon until next year. Right now we're thinking Bora Bora or the Galapagos Islands. We did go on a "mini-moon" right after the wedding to Devil's Thumb Ranch in Tabernash. We really enjoyed some down time to relax and unwind. We ate a lot of good food (so much steak and fresh chocolate chip cookies all over the property), laid at the pool, and went hiking/horse back riding.
