How did you two meet?
Stephen had moved from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to Colorado in 2006 after landing a new job. I had visited Colorado in 2005 and loved the Rockies so much I decided to leave Georgia to head West in the fall of 2010. Our paths crossed in January of 2011 when we both happened to sign up on Match.com. We had our first date at Maggino’s in early February and have been together ever since.
What was the best memory of your wedding day?
Steve’s: Seeing Margo walking out of the bridal cottage and towards me down the aisle. She was stunning!
Margo’s: When we were pronounced husband and wife and we shared our first kiss as Mr. & Mrs. I also loved getting to dance with my dad, and having my mom as my Matron of Honor.
What is some advice you have for future couples on their wedding day?
It’s true what they say, the day really does fly by. For that reason, if you can afford a coordinator (even if it’s a day or month of coordinator), it is so worth the money to ensure that your day runs smoothly and you can enjoy every moment together. Live streaming the ceremony for those that might not be able to attend in person is also something we would highly recommend. We are so glad we did that and had videography. We haven’t seen our video yet, but we are sure we will love it since our day was as close to perfect as we could hope for. Being able to look back and not only see, but hear our wedding day through a video will always be priceless.
Where did you go on your honeymoon and what activities did you do?
We went to Maui, Hawaii and stayed at a recently updated condo in Ekhai Village in Kihei. We loved every minute of our trip. We went snorkeling and were able swim with sea turtles. We took a 90-minute helicopter flight around the island and landed on a mountain side to enjoy some pineapple flavored champagne. We drove up to Kaanapali to enjoy a couple’s cabana massage at the Westin Maui, had lunch at one of their restaurants and spent the day at the beach. We also went to the Feast at Lele Luau, watched surfers on the North Shore and tried many other yummy restaurants. We are hoping to go back on our five year anniversary and would recommend to anyone who love adventure and relaxation.
